Whats New in SESATS IX

Format

SESATS IX integrates a variety of information types, and it is offered only in electronic format. As in previous computerized editions, an individual question with its media elements is answered first. The critique and supplemental information is then presented, and the question must be answered again (correctly) before the exam moves to the next question. When all questions have been answered, a survey questionnaire and CME allocation are completed and this information is submitted via the internet. After completion, the interface and operation of SESATS change to facilitate review of all content, including text searching.

Content

SESATS IX contains 398 questions, a 30% increase in content. All questions are new, and critiques and illustrative material have been expanded. Abstracts for all references are provided, which can be selected for printing for users who wish to create a study or library lookup list. Some questions contain complete imaging studies (e.g., CT and PET), and some have internet links external to the program for additional learning material.

Media

SESATS IX runs from a plug-in USB “drive” that offers portability and optimal speed to deliver media elements without interruption of the examination. SESATS IX can be taken on multiple computers as long as each meets minimal hardware requirements.

Security

Each SESATS IX USB drive is individually encoded for the purchaser, and requires that person’s unique CTSNet user identifier and password for session login.

Online Answer Logging

Connection to the internet is not required to work through SESATS IX, but it is strongly encouraged. Examinees may upload their answer and progress files to a web database at the end of each session, and connection to the internet is required to do this. Online logging will minimize data loss if the SESATS drive is lost or if a computer problem occurs. When the examination is complete the examinee is prompted to submit final answer and survey files via the internet. Confirmation and final CME certification documents are returned via email.

Feedback

Successful conclusion of SESATS IX requires completion of an evaluation at the time of final answer submission. Examinees are encouraged to submit feedback at any time via the provided interface (requires internet connection)

Support

A comprehensive tutorial with audio narration is provided. Frequently asked questions (FAQs) are contained in the program and available online. Toll-free technical support is provided.
